Recoil Traction Bar Mounting Kit

The BDS Suspension Recoil Traction Bar Mounting Kit is engineered to enhance traction for 1988-2006 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, all while preserving full wheel travel. Constructed from robust 2-inch OD x 3/16-inch wall steel tubing, this kit incorporates internal compression springs that allow for on-vehicle adjustment to manage axle wrap. Its full-floating design ensures bind-free operation and compatibility with a range of lift heights. The mounting kit features a CNC-machined end at the frame and a threaded bung welded towards the axle. The axle mount utilizes BDS's durable forged flex end with a jam nut, capable of up to 15 degrees of misalignment. At the frame end, a durometer-specific polyurethane bushing works with dual-stage internal compression springs and UHMW polyurethane bearings for smooth articulation. Installation is estimated to take 3-4 hours and involves bolt-on mounting brackets with minor drilling for the frame mount. Key benefits include adjustable axle wrap control, a full floating design that prevents binding and hinders suspension articulation, and greaseable, rebuildable traction bar ends. The spring preload can be adjusted without disassembling the traction bar. Important notes for fitment: This kit does not fit regular cab models and will not work with Long Bed Models. It requires a 2" Rear Bump Stop Extension and is designed for 4WD Models only.
