Unlike the stock plastic intake manifold found on 2013-2016 models, this unit is constructed from aluminum, providing a more robust and visually appealing component. Designed to align with the factory updates of the 2017 model year, it is now a standard part on 2017 and newer manual transmission vehicles. Installation of this intake manifold is straightforward, though a throttle body gasket is recommended for a complete seal. For vehicles equipped with Direct Injection (DI) ECUs, a minor modification to the older bracket or the purchase of a newer bracket is required for a bolt-on installation. Alternatively, aftermarket ECU brackets from brands like Velox / FT86SF are available in various anodized colors. While this manifold offers a performance advantage and visual flair, users have noted that significant performance gains, such as increased horsepower and torque, are most noticeable when paired with other bolt-on modifications and an appropriate tune. Some users have reported a slight increase in throttle response and a more pronounced engine sound after installation.
