Redline Cold Air Intake

The COBB Tuning SF Intake and SF Airbox is engineered to enhance performance and airflow for compatible Subaru Legacy GT, Spec B, and Outback XT models from 2005-2009. This system aims to provide the advantages of both short ram and cold air intakes without their typical drawbacks. The intake system features unique design elements, including a custom conical cloth air filter, a CFD-designed velocity stack, and an airflow straightener grid. This grid specifically smooths incoming air before it reaches the Mass Air Flow sensor, preventing turbulence and ensuring accurate readings, which is crucial for engine management. The airbox is constructed from 16-gauge aluminum and utilizes the factory snorkel to feed cold air directly into the SF Intake, preventing hot engine bay air from being drawn in. This design also offers protection against water ingestion, a common issue with in-fender cold air intakes. Constructed from a high-temperature plastic composite, the intake body offers superior heat rejection compared to metal designs, helping to keep intake air temperatures cooler. The post-MAF connection is made with 4-ply steel-reinforced silicone. IMPORTANT NOTE: As with all aftermarket intakes for MAF-based Subarus, appropriate tuning is required for safe engine performance. COBB Tuning offers Accessport Off-The-Shelf (OTS) maps for the 2005-2006 Legacy GT. However, any 2007-2009 Legacy GT model will require custom tuning to operate properly with the SF intake installed. For 08+ Subaru STIs and WRXs, tuning is also necessary, and COBB offers optimized OTS maps via their Accessport.
