It effectively captures oil vapors that would otherwise enter the intake manifold. This process leads to cleaner valves and a reduced likelihood of detonation, as oil particles are removed from the PCV gases before they reach the intake. Constructed with a spacer plate made from 33% glass-filled nylon, this AOS integrates seamlessly with the factory breather plate. Air from the crankcase is routed through a swirl pot and baffles, causing heavier oil particles to condense. This collected oil is then returned to the crankcase via a dedicated drain line, ensuring a cleaner engine and potentially allowing for more power with reduced risk. Installation of this Air/Oil Separator requires the COBB Sound Symposer Delete Kit, which must be purchased separately. The AOS itself features a billet aluminum tank with bright black dip anodizing, additional baffling, and a laser-etched COBB logo. It is designed and manufactured 100% in-house by COBB Tuning. This specific Air/Oil Separator is confirmed to fit various Ford Focus ST models from 2013 through 2018, including ADM, EDM, and USDM configurations. It is also noted as being 50 State Legal with California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO) number D-660-123.
