The Zumbrota Drivetrain Reman Axle Assembly is a comprehensively remanufactured differential unit for the Chrysler 8.25-inch axle. This specific assembly features a 3.92 gear ratio and Posi Traction, designed to provide reliable performance for 1997-1999 2WD Dodge Dakota models. During the remanufacturing process, Zumbrota Drivetrain ensures all components meet or exceed OEM specifications. All tubes are inspected and straightened, and housings are thoroughly tested for cracks and surface wear. Internal parts, including the ring and pinion, internal gears, clutches, and carriers, are inspected 100%. Additionally, all bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced with new parts. The housings are then cleaned using a hydro blasting process to restore an OEM finish, and precise rolling torque is set for optimal setup and durability. It is important to note that this axle assembly does not include hubs, brakes, backing plates, or axle shafts. These components must be sourced separately. The unit is built to order, and a refundable core charge applies upon return of your old, salvageable part.
