The Zumbrota Drivetrain Reman Axle Assy is a remanufactured rear axle assembly specifically designed for GM 1500 4WD models manufactured between 1988 and 1999. This unit is built with an 8.5-inch GM 10-bolt ring gear and a 3.42 gear ratio, identified by the GU6 ratio option. It is an open differential, meaning it does not have a limited-slip or positraction feature. This axle assembly undergoes a rigorous remanufacturing process. All housings are cleaned using a state-of-the-art hydro blasting and rinsing process to restore them to an OEM finish. The assembly includes a 100% replacement of essential wear components such as bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims. Internal parts, including the ring and pinion gears, internal gears, clutches, and carriers, are subjected to a 100% inspection to ensure their integrity. Additionally, all housings are tested for surface wear and cracks, and tubes are straightened to meet OEM specifications. The rolling torque is precisely established using inch-pound measurements to ensure setup precision and longevity. Key specifications for this axle assembly include a 30-spline count, an 8.5-inch ring gear diameter, and an open differential type. It's important to note that this assembly does not include hubs, brakes, backing plates, or axle shafts.
