This assembly is built for the GM 12 Bolt 8.875 Inch housing, featuring a 4.10 gear ratio for optimized performance and a Posi Traction limited-slip differential for improved grip. Each axle assembly undergoes a rigorous remanufacturing process to ensure precision and reliability. This includes thorough inspection of the housing for straightness, cracks, and surface wear, along with comprehensive testing of all internal components such as ring and pinions, internal gears, clutches, and carriers. All bearings and seals are replaced, and gears are meticulously inspected for optimal tooth contact patterns and correct rolling torque, utilizing inch-pound measurements for precise setup and longevity. The gear backlash is set to ensure proper lubrication and quiet operation. Zumbrota employs an exclusive hydro-blast rinse and sandblasting procedure, followed by a proprietary shot-peened deep cleaning process on both internal and external parts.
