This assembly is specifically configured with a 3.73 gear ratio, designed to optimize performance for the 3.7L engine. It utilizes the robust Chrysler 8.25-inch ring gear and features a standard 10-bolt round cover, ensuring compatibility with the original housing. The inclusion of ABS and a Posi-Traction Limited Slip Differential (LSD) enhances traction and control. Each Zumbrota axle assembly undergoes a rigorous remanufacturing process. This includes thorough inspection of the housing for straightness, cracks, and wear, as well as 100% inspection of all internal components like ring and pinions, gears, clutches, and carriers. All bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced with new parts. The gears are meticulously inspected for optimal tooth contact patterns and set to precise rolling torque specifications using inch-pound measurements for maximum setup accuracy and longevity. Gear backlash is correctly set to ensure proper lubrication and quiet operation. Zumbrota employs an exclusive hydro-blast rinse and sandblasting procedure, followed by a proprietary shot-enticed deep cleaning process for both internal and external parts.
