The Zumbrota Drivetrain Reman Complete Axle Assembly is a rebuilt unit for Dana 44 rear axles, specifically for 1997-2002 Jeep Wrangler models. This assembly is engineered with a 3.73 gear ratio and an 8.5-inch ring gear, and it is configured without Posi Traction. Each axle assembly undergoes a rigorous remanufacturing process to ensure precision and reliability. This includes thorough inspection of tubes for straightness, cracks, and surface wear, as well as 100% inspection of all internal components like ring and pinions, internal gears, clutches, and carriers. All bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced with new parts. Zumbrota Drivetrain employs a proprietary cleaning process involving hydro-blasting and sandblasting, followed by shot-peening for a superior finish and quality. The internal gears are inspected for optimal tooth contact patterns, and correct rolling torque is established using inch-pound measurements to guarantee precise setup, longevity, and quiet operation. Gear backlash is set to ensure proper lubrication and performance. It is important to note that this axle assembly does not include hubs, brakes, backing plates, or axle shafts.
