Reman Rear Axle Assembly 3.42 Ratio 28 Spline Posi Traction

The Zumbrota Drivetrain Reman Rear Axle Assembly is a Posi Traction unit built for GM 10 Bolt 8.5-inch rear axles, offering a 3.42 gear ratio and 28-spline axle compatibility. This remanufactured axle assembly undergoes a comprehensive inspection and rebuild process. All housings are cleaned via hydro blasting to restore an OEM finish and are tested for surface wear and cracks. The tubes are straightened to OEM specifications. Internally, all bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced with new components. Furthermore, all internal parts, including ring and pinion gears, internal gears, clutches, and carriers, are 100% inspected to ensure quality and longevity. The correct rolling torque is established using inch-pound measurements for precise setup and extended service life. This rear axle assembly is designed for 2WD configurations of 1978-1987 GM 1/2-ton trucks and 1978-1988 GM 1/2-ton Suburbans.
