Description

The Zumbrota Drivetrain RAA435-2164D is a remanufactured axle assembly specifically designed for the Ford 8.8-inch differential. This unit features a 3.27 gear ratio and is built to fit 2003-2005 Ford Town Car models equipped with ABS. During the remanufacturing process, all tubes are inspected and straightened to OEM specifications, and housings are tested for surface wear and cracks. Internal components undergo a 100% inspection, including the ring and pinion, internal gears, clutches, and carrier. To ensure precision setup and longevity, all bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced, and the correct rolling torque is established using inch-pound measurements. The housing is then cleaned using a hydro blasting process to restore it to an OEM finish. It is important to note that this axle assembly does not include hubs, brakes, backing plates, or axle shafts. The product is built to order, and a refundable core charge of $400 applies.
