Description

The Zumbrota Drivetrain RAA435-1868 is a remanufactured axle assembly engineered for the rear of GM 8.5-inch applications. This unit comes equipped with a 3.73 gear ratio, specifically tailored for 1996-1997 Chevy S10 and S15 models featuring the ZR2 package and excluding AWD. This remanufactured assembly undergoes a thorough inspection process. All housing tubes are straightened to meet OEM specifications, and the housings themselves are rigorously tested for surface wear and cracks. Internally, all components, including ring and pinion gears, internal gears, and clutches, are inspected 100%. Critical wear items such as bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are entirely replaced to ensure reliability and longevity. The housings are also hydro-blasted and rinsed to restore their original OEM finish. Assembly includes a precise setup with correct rolling torque established using inch-pound measurements for optimal performance and durability.
