The Zumbrota Drivetrain RAA435-1918C is a meticulously remanufactured axle assembly, engineered for the Ford 8.8 Inch ring gear. This unit is specifically designed for 1998, 2001, and 2002 Ford Crown Victoria models equipped with the Police Package, featuring both ABS and Posi Traction. Each axle assembly undergoes a rigorous remanufacturing process. All tubes are inspected and straightened to meet OEM specifications, while housings are tested for surface wear and cracks. Internally, 100% inspection of all components, including ring and pinion gears, internal gears, clutches, and carriers, is performed. Essential wear items such as bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced with new parts to ensure longevity and performance. The remanufacturing process also includes a comprehensive cleaning using hydro blasting and rinsing, restoring the housing to its original OEM finish. Precision setup is guaranteed through the establishment of correct rolling torque, measured in inch-pounds for optimal setup and durability. Technical notes indicate a 3.55 ratio and include specifications for the Ford 8.8 Inch Ring Gear, Police Package, ABS, and Posi Traction. Please note that this assembly does not include hubs, brakes, backing plates, or axle shafts, which must be sourced separately.
