The Zumbrota Drivetrain RAA435-1488D is a completely remanufactured rear axle assembly, engineered for 1987-1988 Dodge Dakota 2WD models equipped with a 3.23 gear ratio and Posi Traction. This unit features a Chrysler 7.25-inch ring gear and a 10-bolt hexagon cover. During the remanufacturing process, Zumbrota Drivetrain ensures the highest quality standards by thoroughly inspecting all components for straightness, cracks, and surface wear. All internal parts, including ring and pinions, internal gears, clutches, and carriers, undergo 100% inspection. Crucially, all bearings, seals, crush sleeves, pinion nuts, and shims are replaced. The assembly is set to correct rolling torque using inch-pound measurements for precise setup and longevity, with gears inspected for optimal tooth contact patterns and proper backlash. Zumbrota employs an exclusive Hydro-Blast rinse and sandblasting procedure, followed by a proprietary shot-enticed deep cleaning process for both internal and external parts, ensuring a like-new finish and setting a high standard for axle assembly remanufacturing. The axle tubes are inspected to meet OEM specifications for straightness. This specific axle assembly is for the rear axle only and does not include hubs, brakes, backing plates, or axle shafts.
