It offers a precise 15:1 steering ratio with a 3-turn lock-to-lock operation, providing a more responsive feel. This unit retains the factory steering shaft and stock pitman arm, simplifying installation, especially for lifted trucks. Each Redhead steering gearbox is meticulously rebuilt with new control valves on some applications. The housings are machined and fitted with needle bearings, while shafts are flame-sprayed or replaced to ensure durability. The worm and piston assembly is custom-fit using special oversized ball bearings, and sector shafts are confirmed straight and true on a lathe. The sealing surface is polished to prevent leaks, and it includes O-ring fittings. This steering gearbox is built in the USA and comes with a 12-month warranty. It is designed to fit 1994-2001 Dodge 1500 models and 1994-2002 Dodge 2500 and 3500 models. A core charge applies, with refunds processed upon return of the original core. Options are available to add extra ports for aftermarket hydraulic steering ram assist.
