Remanufactured Transmission

The Zumbrota Drivetrain S5-47 Manual Transmission is a remanufactured unit designed for specific Ford applications. This transmission undergoes a rigorous three-step inspection process to ensure the highest quality standards are met. The first step involves a pre-inspection to identify case cracks, excessive wear, or OEM-specific problems. The second step measures all component parts to verify they meet OEM specifications, and the third step ensures the unit is built to exacting quality standards. Internal components such as shaft straightness, gear wear, and synchronizers are extensively tested to meet OEM specifications. All seals are replaced, and each transmission is dyno-tested to confirm proper operation, shiftability, and noise levels. The remanufacturing process also includes an exclusive hydro-blast rinse and sandblasting procedure on internal and external parts, followed by proprietary shot-enticed deep cleaning. This specific S5-47M transmission is built by ZF and features integral front and rear cases with a bell housing. It has gear ratios of 5.72 for low gear and 0.76 for overdrive, and it includes a bushing on the end of the shifter stub. It is designed for Ford 1999-2001 F-series trucks equipped with 5.4L or 6.8L engines and 2WD drivetrains. The transmission has an electronic speedometer and does not include a shifter stub.
