The Extang 56940 Solid Fold Tonneau Cover is a tri-folding, hard aluminum tonneau cover designed for quick and easy installation and removal without tools. It secures cargo using the truck's OE or aftermarket tailgate lock. It features Extang's exclusive SpeedKlamps made from fiberglass-filled nylon for strength and spring-action technology for easy fastening and release, which stow away within the frame when not in use. The cab section secures with a hand-tightened threaded clamp with a heavy-duty T handle. The tonneau is ultra-strong yet lightweight, weighing approximately 50 pounds for a 6.5-foot bed. It is constructed with aircraft-grade aluminum panels and a 1-inch thick alloy frame.
