COMP Cams Lightweight Tool Steel Retainers provide the best of all valve train benefits: light weight, along with exceptional strength and wear characteristics. Approximately 33% lighter than conventional chromemoly steel retainers and only 2-4 grams heavier than titanium (depending upon application), they are made from high-grade tool steel, making them able to withstand even the most demanding race applications.

These 1757 Tool Steel material retainers are the most cost-effective performance retainer one can buy for use with our 26056 Beehive springs. Nearly as light as titanium at a fraction of the cost.

The COMP Cams 1757-4 is a set of tool steel valve spring retainers designed for performance applications. These retainers are made from tool steel and feature a 7-degree angle and a 7mm lock type. They are advertised as being 30 percent stronger than conventional chromoly steel retainers and nearly as light as titanium. These retainers are intended for use with COMP Cams 26056 Beehive springs.
