The Howards Camshaft 110885-08 is a retro-fit hydraulic roller camshaft engineered for 1955-1998 Small Block Chevy engines, including displacements from 262 to 400 cubic inches. This camshaft is designed to deliver a mild, choppy idle and a robust torque curve within a 2000 to 5800 RPM range. Constructed using the highest grade cores, Howards camshafts are Rockwell checked and Parkerized to ensure adherence to quality control standards. This particular camshaft features a .525 inch intake and .525 inch exhaust lift, with a duration at 0.050 inch of 225 degrees for both intake and exhaust. The lobe separation angle is set at 108 degrees. For optimal performance, this camshaft requires a stall converter of 2500 RPM or higher, along with compatible aftermarket intake and exhaust components. It is important to note that stock (O.E.) valve springs cannot be used with this camshaft, and it necessitates the use of a thrust button. Additional components like valve springs and a rev kit may be required for proper installation and operation.
