RS5000X Gas Shocks

The Rancho RS5000X Gas Shocks are engineered to elevate the handling and performance of your vehicle, whether on or off-road. Each shock is gas-pressurized to 150 PSI, utilizing a twin-tube construction that effectively minimizes air-to-oil mixture, thus preventing foaming and shock fade. This gas pressurization also contributes a mild boost to the vehicle's spring rate. The RS5000X series boasts a 2-1/4-inch diameter shock body, a design that increases fluid capacity. This larger capacity allows the shock to operate at lower temperatures, enhancing vehicle control and performance across varying speeds and terrains. The all-weather fluid used in these shocks ensures reliability in extreme conditions, withstanding internal temperatures from -40 to 248 degrees Fahrenheit. Rancho's design incorporates patented progressive rebound and compression discs. This innovative valving system engages at lower frequencies during the initial stages of the shock's travel. It helps control motion energy and allows for early fluid flow, reducing harsh initial impacts and managing fluid in a progressive manner. This feature minimizes a rough ride on uneven surfaces like washboard roads or rough fire roads by allowing the piston to glide smoothly through the initial travel. If increased control and stability are needed, the Progressive Engagement Valving will further engage. These shocks are compatible with a wide range of Chevrolet and Dodge Ram vehicles, primarily for the rear position at factory ride height. Specific fitments include various models of Chevrolet Avalanche, C1500, Silverado (including 1500, 3500, 3500 HD, and Classic trims), Suburban (1500, 2500, and 3500 HD), and Tahoe, as well as Dodge Ram 1500 (4WD and RWD) and Ram 2500 (4WD and RWD) from the mid-1990s through the 2020 model year. Note that this specific part number (RS55262) is for the rear position. The compatible vehicles are extensive, covering numerous years and specific trims within these makes and models.
