The Rancho RS77371 RS7MT Shock Absorber is engineered for exceptional on-road and off-road performance, utilizing a monotube design for efficient heat dissipation, making it ideal for extreme use and larger wheel/tire packages. Its deflective disc valving offers progressive tuning for precision handling. Construction highlights include a 14mm hardened chrome piston rod that resists scuffs and corrosion, double-welded loops at stress areas, a double-strength closure method, and a hot-form reserve tube for enhanced durability. This shock absorber is designed to handle extreme temperature variations, with its large 2-inch monotube body filled with all-weather fluid capable of withstanding temperatures from -40 to 248°F. It features a full-floating dividing piston and high-pressure nitrogen gas to maintain constant pressure, thereby reducing aeration and shock fade. For a smoother ride, internal rebound bumpers and shouldered rubber bushings minimize noise, vibration, and harshness. The PTFE-banded piston improves responsiveness to changing road conditions. Installation is straightforward due to application-specific mounting, eliminating the need for extra hardware. The integrated dirt wiper sealing system effectively prevents moisture, dirt, and debris from contaminating the oil and damaging internal seals. The shock's robust construction includes a large 46mm fluon-banded piston for consistent sealing and precise control. For added protection, shock boots (RS1952 and RS1961) are available separately.
