The Superlite Sprockets 520 Conversion Kit is a customizable chain and sprocket set specifically designed for the Yamaha YZF-R1 models from 1998 to 2003. This kit offers a narrower profile compared to stock components, resulting in a weight savings of 1 to 2 pounds. The reduction in unsprung weight can lead to improved acceleration, braking performance, and a more refined suspension feel. The kit includes a Superlite brand chromoly-steel front sprocket and a Superlite RSX rear sprocket, available in either durable STEEL or a lightweight, hard-anodized ALUMINUM finish. The RSX rear sprockets feature a tooth profile optimized for enhanced chain contact and longevity, along with a unique spoke design for superior strength and a recessed face for maximum weight reduction. The steel RSX sprocket offers a lifespan 2-3 times longer than aluminum counterparts. The front sprockets are constructed from tough chromoly-steel and are cross-drilled to further reduce weight. Customers can choose from top-tier chain brands such as DID, RK, and EK, with the chain being cut to the proper length for easy installation. A rivet-type master link is also included. It's important to note that while most orders receive the correct chain length, some chains may require customer shortening due to variations in gearing options, tire sizes, or wheelbase. Always verify the chain length before riveting the master link.
