This part, also known by various terms such as Control Arm Bushing, Trailing Arm Bushing, or Axle Pivot Bushing, is constructed from durable rubber by BMW. This rubber mounting replaces BMW part number 33-32-1-136-311 and is specifically manufactured to tolerate years of heavy use, providing long-lasting performance. The required quantity for most applications is two units. Installation involves pressing the new bushing into the control arm bore, ensuring it protrudes equally from both sides. For proper installation and to avoid damage, it's crucial to press only on the outer steel sleeve. The control arm through-bolt should be tightened to its final torque only when the vehicle is on the ground and the suspension is normally loaded, and a professional alignment is recommended upon completion. This genuine BMW Rubber Mounting is compatible with a wide range of BMW models, including various 3 Series (318i, 318is, 320i, 323Ci, 323i, 323is, 325Ci, 325i, 325is, 325xi, 328i) and X3 (2004-2010) and M3 (1995-1996) vehicles.
