Ruthenium HX Spark Plug

The NGK 96355 Ruthenium HX spark plug is engineered to meet the demands of today's efficient engines, offering superior durability and performance. This spark plug utilizes advanced materials and designs for optimal ignitability. It features a ruthenium fine wire center electrode and a dual fine electrode (DFE) ground electrode with a platinum tip. The DFE design maximizes ignitability while reducing emissions, particularly for low-heat engines. For high-heat applications, such as those found in turbo or supercharged engines, a projected square platinum electrode (PSPE) tip design is utilized, providing excellent ignitability and service life. The spark plug offers superior oxidation resistance and enhanced blistering/anti-peeling for optimal durability at high temperatures and in various driving conditions. This advanced technology results in a more complete fuel burn, leading to quicker throttle response, smoother idling, and improved cold starts. The NGK 96355 has a 5/8" hex size, a 1.043" reach, and a 0.044" pre-set gap, though minor adjustments may be needed with a spark plug gap tool to match specific engine requirements. The OE-recommended gap should be maintained within ±0.004". Key specifications include a copper center electrode core, a mid-projection center electrode design, a non-removable nut electrical terminal type, and a J-gap ground configuration. The insulator is made of ceramic and has a height of 1.99 inches. The spark plug is a resistor type and includes a crush washer.
