The Bennett Built Rx8 Ignition upgrade kit offers a robust solution for owners experiencing issues with the factory ignition system. This comprehensive kit replaces the OEM components with D585 ignition coils, a custom-machined billet polished aluminum bracket and hardware, BennettBuilt Elite series spark plug wires, and a dedicated LS to Rx8 wire harness adapter. By providing a hotter and more consistent spark, this upgrade can result in significant improvements, including faster starting, enhanced overall performance, better fuel efficiency, and a cleaner combustion process. Furthermore, it prevents the spark blowout commonly encountered with turbo or supercharged applications, which can cause misfires. The OEM ignition components in the Mazda RX-8 are known to fail prematurely, sometimes as early as 20,000 miles. This Bennett Built kit provides a long-lasting, cost-effective alternative, saving owners the recurring expense and hassle of frequent OEM part replacements. For optimal results, it is recommended to adjust the ignition coil dwell setting using a tuning device such as a Cobb Accessport or similar method. When installing this kit, it is strongly advised to also replace the spark plugs, using two NGK 6700 and two NGK 6701, ensuring they are installed in the correct 'T' or 'L' marked locations.
