RX8 LSx Engine Swap Kit

The V8R RX8 LSx Engine Swap Kit is engineered to seamlessly integrate GM's LSx series engines into the Mazda RX8 chassis, addressing the reliability and power limitations of the original rotary powerplant. The core of the kit is a robust tubular front subframe, designed with integrated sway bar mounts to accommodate CTSV accessory drive systems. This subframe also allows for the use of a GM F-body oil pan without requiring any modifications, simplifying the engine installation process. To improve weight distribution and steering feel, the kit includes a swap to a hydraulic steering rack sourced from the Mazda MX5, shedding approximately 35 lbs from the front of the vehicle while integrating with the GM power steering pump. The transmission mounting section utilizes laser-cut and CNC-profiled uni-body supports that reinforce the chassis and provide secure mounting points for the transmission cross member. The kit is designed to work with a Ford 8.8 differential via a custom driveline setup. All components are finished in a durable dark gray gloss powder coat and include necessary grade 8 zinc-finished hardware for installation. This kit is compatible with any 3rd or 4th generation LSx engine, with the exception of the LS7. For accessory drives, CTSV components are recommended for optimal fitment, though F-body accessories can be used with additional effort. While the kit will mount the TR-6060 transmission, it's important to note that the shifter will not align correctly and will require a custom shifter with a GTO offset. The original RX-8 front suspension and brakes are retained, but the steering rack is replaced with the NC MX5 version. Custom adaptation is possible for using the OEM RX-8 differential from the transmission cross member back.
