It is the industry standard for these applications, capable of supporting up to 1000 HP. The dual ceramic-faced friction discs provide superior heat capacity compared to organic clutches, ensuring robust performance under demanding conditions while maintaining a light pedal feel. This kit is specifically designed for the 2018 and later Mustang GT and Mach 1 models equipped with the MT-82 transmission. Due to the revised MT-82 design that integrates the pilot bearing into the flywheel, this kit mandates the use of a specific McLeod Billet Aluminum flywheel. The package includes the HD pressure plate, two ceramic discs, a floater, and an adapter ring for precise fitment and optimal performance. The 23-spline input shaft ensures a direct fit for the factory MT-82 transmission. Installation notes emphasize the importance of following the McLeod Clutch Break-In Guide. Crucially, the MCL-1200 is not compatible with this application, and the OEM throwout bearing must be used. While the RST model is intended for street use and not competition, the RXT is suitable for high-horsepower street and strip applications. The Billet Aluminum flywheel included significantly reduces rotational mass, leading to quicker throttle response and improved high-RPM shifting. For those seeking a clutch not intended for competition, the McLeod RST is an economically priced twin disc option rated for 800hp.
