The Hondata S300 is a programmable engine management module that enhances the functionality of factory OBD1 Honda Engine Computers (ECUs). This plug-in solution is designed to work with a range of Honda engines, including B Series (B16A, B16A2, B16A3, B17A1, B18A1, B18B1, B18C1, B18C5, B20B, B20Z), D Series (D15B, D16A6, D16Y5, D16Y7, D16Y8, D16Z6), H Series (H22A, H22A1, H23A1), and F Series (F20B, F22A, F22B, F23A). Key features of the S300 include real-time tuning capabilities with approximately 2-second upload times, significantly faster datalogging speeds compared to older units, and onboard flash memory capable of storing around 120 minutes of data. The V3 version adds Bluetooth support for wireless tuning and datalogging from a laptop or mobile device, eliminating the need for USB cables. It also provides CAN bus and serial output for integration with external dashboards like AiM MXL and Racepak IQ3. Additionally, the S300 supports an ethanol content sensor for flex-fuel tuning, allowing for real-time adjustments based on fuel blend percentages. Installation requires a compatible manual transmission OBD1 Honda ECU (USDM rectangular case) and a Windows laptop with USB or Bluetooth connectivity. It is important to note that the S300 is designed exclusively for USDM rectangular OBD1 ECUs, typically found in 1992-1995 Civics and 1994-2001 Integras.
