The 034 S34 Carbon Fiber Intake is a comprehensive performance upgrade for the turbocharged 2.0T EA888.4 engine found in the Volkswagen Mk8 Golf R and Audi 8Y S3. Engineered in-house by 034Motorsport, this intake system is designed to deliver measurable increases in horsepower and torque, enhance induction and turbocharger sounds, and provide a visually striking carbon fiber heat shield. The system utilizes an optimized open-airbox design that channels cool outside air through the factory fresh air duct to a large 4" inlet conical air filter. The intake tube is a CFD-optimized 4-Ply silicone replacement for the factory accordion hose, designed to smoothly increase air velocity to the throttle body. The high-flow conical air filter features a double-layer pleated cotton filtration medium capable of trapping particles as small as 5 microns, offering superior filtration and increased flow. 034Motorsport has also incorporated a clever air filter support to prevent unwanted movement and ensure proper installation. The system offers improved airflow, with tested gains showing an increase from 474.7 CFM (stock) to 819.4 CFM (034 Intake), approximately a 53% increase at 28" H₂O. Enhanced engine induction sounds and improved throttle response are also noted benefits. The "S34 Insuction Bundle" is available, which includes the 034Motorsport Turbo Inlet Pipe, manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum with a 76mm internal diameter for maximum airflow. The product is sold for racing use and on vehicles not registered for on-highway use, and is not legal for street vehicles.
