Description

The Zumbrota Drivetrain S5-42 Manual Transmission is a remanufactured 5-speed transmission engineered for 1987-1995 Ford F-series trucks equipped with 6.9L or 7.3L diesel engines and 4WD. This transmission is built to strict OEM specifications, undergoing three quality inspections during the remanufacturing process. These inspections include pre-inspection for case cracks and wear, checks during remanufacturing to ensure component parts meet OEM standards, and a final post-build inspection for quality control. Internal parts are 100% inspected, including gear wear checks, mainshaft straightness testing, and synchronizer functionality. All transmissions are dynometer tested through numerous real-life scenarios to ensure reliability and performance. This specific model, RMTS5-42-14, is designed for applications where the Power Take-Off (PTO) is not utilized. It features a 4.14:1 first gear ratio. This unit is built to order and subject to a refundable core charge.
