S5-42 Manual Transmission

The Zumbrota Drivetrain S5-42 is a remanufactured manual transmission engineered for 1992-1995 Ford F-series trucks equipped with the 7.3L engine. This unit is specifically designed for 2WD applications and is intended for use in vehicles where the Power Take-Off (PTO) is not being utilized. It features an integral bell housing, a 4.14 low gear ratio for enhanced control, and a 0.77 high gear ratio. The transmission is equipped with an electronic speedometer connection and does not include a speedometer gear. Zumbrota Drivetrain prioritizes quality throughout its remanufacturing process. Each transmission undergoes three distinct quality inspections. An initial pre-inspection ensures the unit is free from case cracks, excessive wear, and other common OEM issues. Furthermore, all internal parts, including gears, mainshafts, and synchronizers, are subjected to a 100% inspection, including wear checks and straightness and function testing. To guarantee performance and reliability, every S5-42 transmission is dyno-tested. This testing simulates numerous real-life driving scenarios to ensure the unit operates correctly under various load conditions. The transmission also features specific part identification numbers: 1307-050-070, 1307-050-099, 1307-050-108, and F2TA-HA, F4TA-EA, F4TA-EC, with a Hollander Number of 400-02276B.
