The Vargas VTT S55 / N55 Crank Bolt Capture offers an easy and cost-effective way to add security to your engine's bottom end. This capture device slips over the head of the factory crank bolt, fully encapsulating it and locking it to the crank hub, ensuring it cannot back out. Constructed from 100% Billet Aircraft Grade Aluminum, the VTT-CBC is anodized black for protection against the elements and a stealth aesthetic. Weighing only 1.3 oz, it adds virtually no extra weight to the crank, which is important for maintaining balance and reducing vibration. While not a complete solution for all crank hub spinning issues, it directly addresses the common problem of the crank bolt backing out. Installation requires the use of the factory crank bolt exclusively, as it is not compatible with aftermarket bolts. In a small number of instances, the capture may not perfectly align with the crank bolt and damper bolts. In such cases, it may be necessary to apply a little extra stretch to the bolt to achieve alignment, or to install a new bolt and clock it correctly to fit the capture. The kit includes all necessary 12.9 hardware for installation.
