The SPE Motorsport S550 GT Stage 2 Cradle Lockout Kit is engineered to address wheel hop in performance vehicles. Stock rubber bushings are effective at absorbing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH), but they offer minimal performance benefit. This kit aims to improve handling by securing the cradle to the chassis, thereby minimizing cradle bushing deflection, which is a significant contributor to wheel hop. Constructed from 6061 forged billet aluminum with an anodized finish, the kit includes upper bushing lockout rings that capture the inner bushing sleeve and the outer lip of the cradle's bushing cup. The lower lockout arms secure the bottom of the inner bushing sleeves, effectively eliminating nearly all movement. This design also features integrated alignment to reduce the need for separate alignment dowels, common in competing kits. The billet arms are low-profile and solid, offering a sturdy jacking point and contributing to chassis stiffening for a more predictable driving experience. Importantly, this modification does not increase NVH. The benefits include reduced wheel hop, lower 60-foot times, increased control and predictability, enhanced handling and overall stability, and added chassis and cradle stiffening. This modification is also noted as non-permanent. This kit is specifically designed to fit the 2015-2021 Mustang GT, 2016-2020 Mustang GT350, and 2020-2021 Mustang GT500 models.
