The BMW electronic throttle body actuator is a vital part for S65 4.0L engines, with two required per vehicle, one for each cylinder bank. Failure, often due to worn plastic gear teeth on higher mileage units, can lead to "limp mode" and various throttle valve monitoring fault codes such as 2B15, 2B16, 2B21, 2B22, 2B25, and 2B26. This component directly controls the throttle body's movement, and its failure impacts throttle response. After installation of new throttle body actuators, it is essential to perform a throttle valve actuator system test using BMW's diagnosis system to ensure proper function and integration. This part is specifically designed for the E90, E92, and E93 M3 models equipped with the S65 4.0L V8 engine, across model years 2008 through 2013, in both automatic dual clutch and manual transmissions, RWD configurations.
