The Michelin 33/68-R18 S8M is a Soft-Intermediate compound radial slick race tire engineered for optimal performance on dry surfaces. This tire represents an advancement over previous generations, featuring a new casing with an enhanced reinforced crown. This design contributes to a more rectangular footprint and improved longevity. Designed for demanding racing conditions, the S8M compound excels within an operating temperature range of 140-212 degrees Fahrenheit. It is recommended to maintain hot tire pressures between 27.5 to 30 PSI, with a starting cold pressure of 22 PSI that can be adjusted based on vehicle setup and driving style. The tire's specifications include an overall diameter of 26.7 inches and a recommended wheel size of 12.0-13.0x18 inches. This tire is specifically recommended for use in FIA GT4, Audi R8, GT2, GTE, and GTLM Class applications manufactured from 2012 onwards, particularly for large rear fitments. It draws upon technology utilized in Michelin's 24 Hours of Le Mans winning products, aiming to provide an ideal balance of performance and durability for competitive racing. The tire is suitable for dry/damp closed course use.
