The Sundown Audio SA 12 Classic D2 is a 12-inch subwoofer engineered for exceptional power handling and deep bass reproduction. This subwoofer is built to deliver a powerful audio experience, capable of handling up to 750 watts of RMS power. Its frequency response ranges from 20Hz to 500Hz, providing versatility across a wide spectrum of music genres. Constructed with a high-strength cast aluminum frame, the SA 12 Classic D2 features a 2.5-inch black aluminum voice coil former designed for superior heat dissipation, ensuring consistent performance even under demanding conditions. It incorporates an optimized coil ventilation system, including a vented magnetic gap, high-velocity pole vent, and an innovative vented frame spacer ring. Other technological features include high-temperature copper voice coil wire, a large aluminum faraday ring, spring-loaded terminals, and stitched-on "XL" tinsel leads to prevent fatigue and failure. This subwoofer is optimized for a variety of enclosure types, performing well in small ported, sealed, and band-pass configurations. Recommended enclosure specifications include a 1.0 cu ft sealed enclosure or a 1.75 cu ft ported enclosure with a recommended tuning of 35Hz and a port area of 26 sq in. The subwoofer has a displacement of 0.14 cu ft and features an outside diameter of 12.625 inches with a cut-out diameter of 11.125 inches and a mounting depth of 6.5 inches.
