The Sundown Audio SA-8 v.3 is a meticulously engineered 8-inch subwoofer designed for low distortion in ported enclosures. It features a custom-tooled motor with a large aluminum Faraday ring for reduced magnetic and inductive distortion, and a patented cast aluminum frame for increased spider clearance. The v.3 update includes a new linear geometry surround and enhanced thermal performance with sixteen chamfered gap vents to ensure high-velocity airflow over the voice coil. It has a 16mm one-way linear excursion and a mechanical capacity exceeding double its linear limits. The standard model utilizes a 4-layer copper voice coil on a black anodized aluminum former for extended low-end response.
