Dart aluminum small blocks are available in standard (9.025") and tall deck (9.325" to 9.500") versions. They feature a raised camshaft and spread oil pan rails to provide extra clearance for stroker cranks. With displacements up to 455 cubic inches, a Dart aluminum block is ideal for sprint cars, modifieds, late model stock cars, dragsters, and unlimited competition classes. Key features include standard 4.000" or 4.125" cylinder bores that can be safely bored to 4.185", ductile iron sleeves, and extra thick walls. The block supports 350 (2.45") and 400 (2.65") main bearings and includes 4-bolt billet steel main caps with splayed outer bolts. It also features big block camshaft bearings, dual starter mounts, and provisions for external oil pump plumbing. Scalloped outer water jacket walls improve coolant flow, and coated cam bearings, freeze plugs, and dowels are included.
