Designed for high horsepower and high compression engines, this Tuff Stuff Gear Reduction Starter is lighter and smaller than original equipment (OE) starters, providing additional header clearance. It features heavy-duty armatures, premium quality ball bearings, a one-piece steel motor housing for maximum strength, 100% copper band field coils, and thicker solenoid contacts. Tuff Stuff starters are handmade from premium quality new components (not remanufactured) and are quality built in the USA. Most Gear Reduction style starters, which are considerably smaller than OE starters, incorporate a mounting block that can be indexed to gain additional clearance. Starters include mounting bolts and shims where applicable. Ideal for high horsepower muscle cars, hot rods, trucks, and daily drivers. Available in chrome plated, zinc plated (as this one), and powder coated finishes.
