The Dart Little M2 Small Block Chevy Cast Iron Bare Block (PN 31182135) is a high-performance, universal engine block designed for custom Small Block Chevy (SBC) applications. It is cast from premium high-strength iron (220 BHN) with reinforced critical areas, ensuring durability and reliability in demanding race and high-performance environments. This block features a competition oiling system with provisions for external oil feed, crossover, and restrictors, alongside priority main oiling and a center lifter oil crossover for optimal lubrication. It accommodates standard small block parts including cam, oil pump, oil pan, oil filter, motor mounts, mechanical fuel pump, and clutch linkage, making it versatile for various build configurations. The design also incorporates siamese cylinder bores with extra thick walls (minimum .275” with 4.185” bore), a solid lifter bar design, and blind head bolt holes for enhanced strength and sealing. The block has a 9.500-inch tall deck height, 4.000-inch bore size, 400-series main journals with steel 4-bolt main caps on all five mains, a raised 0.391-inch camshaft location, and a 55mm cam tunnel. It also utilizes a 2-piece rear seal and 0.842-inch lifter bore size, making it suitable for a wide range of custom engine builds where specific year, make, and model fitment is determined by the builder's application and other chosen components.
