The Comp Cams 12-601-8 SBC Mutha' Thumpr Retro-Fit Hydraulic Roller Camshaft 291THR7 is designed for high-performance street/strip use. It offers excellent low-end torque and a distinctive, aggressive idle. This camshaft is compatible with 262-400 cubic inch Small Block Chevy engines from 1958-1998. A minimum 9.0:1 compression ratio, aftermarket intake, headers, proper gearing, and a 2600+ stall speed torque converter are recommended for optimal performance. It requires a thrust button, wear plate, and a bronze tip fuel pump pushrod with high-pressure pumps. Stock valve springs are not compatible.
