The Monster Clutch Co. GTO SC Series Twin Disc Clutch is engineered to provide robust performance for high-horsepower applications, specifically rated for up to 1000 rwhp/rwtq and designed for the Cadillac CTS-V Gen 1. This clutch system starts with a modified factory GM LT1 pressure plate, adjusted for lift, release, and plate load to enhance performance. It replaces standard organic friction materials with proprietary ceramic-based discs, enabling it to withstand substantial power and abuse while aiming for a manageable driving experience. Key features include the use of factory GM hydraulics for a clean release up to 8000 rpm and a patent-pending CNC-machined billet steel flywheel, balanced to stringent specifications for optimal operation. This twin-disc clutch offers the advantages of a factory unit combined with the capacity for extreme use. The base package is comprehensive, including the clutch assembly, ceramic discs, a 24lb billet steel flywheel, pilot bearing, alignment tool, and necessary hardware. While built for abuse and extreme driving conditions, the SC Series clutch is not recommended for daily driven vehicles unless the driver is prepared for an aggressive clutch feel. Expect potential chatter or shudder during take-off and an on/off engagement, especially when paired with lighter flywheel options. It is best suited for racing or aggressive street applications where power-adder modifications are present and the vehicle's power output is within the clutch's rating. The clutch performs well on the drag strip, road course, and in autocross events due to its reduced MOI and high RPM release capabilities, while still being able to get you home. Proper installation and break-in are crucial for expected performance. Drivers should anticipate moderate chatter/shudder and an on/off engagement with factory pedal effort. Using an aftermarket master cylinder may increase pedal effort and reduce the engagement window. The clutch is designed for 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO models.
