The Timken 477163N is an inch-size oil seal designed for applications where shafts rotate and bearings require lubrication. It features a polyacrylate lip material, known for its resistance to oxidation, ozone, and extreme pressure lubricants. This seal is suitable for use in environments with temperatures up to 149°C (300°F), with a higher limit of 177°C (350°F) depending on the fluid.

This metal-cased seal is offered with Redi-Coat rubberized coating to help fill minor bore imperfections during installation. The polyacrylate material should not be used with water or aqueous solutions and does not perform well in temperatures below -40°C (-40°F). It is also not recommended for dry running applications. Key dimensions include a 3-inch shaft size, a 4.506-inch outer diameter, and a 0.468-inch overall width.
