Series 7 Borg Warner Turbocharger

The Kerma TDI Series 7 Borg Warner Turbocharger represents the next generation of turbochargers for the ALH/BEW engine. This version 2, modified and adjusted by Kerma engineers, is designed for peak performance, with current support for 156 wheel horsepower and over 320 lb-ft of torque. It offers a quicker spool-up, around 300-400 RPM sooner than the Garrett VNT17, and can support up to 180 wheel horsepower. Installation requires specific considerations based on engine code. ALH engines will need an adapter for SMIC plumbing. BEW engines require an EGR pipe for true plug-and-play installation and updated tuning to prevent check engine lights. A new oil supply line is always recommended for both engine types. This turbo is new from Borg Warner and includes a Turbo Install gasket kit. For ALH owners, if your car was produced before mid-2001, updated turbo support bracket, oil return line, and oil return line block fitting may be required; a retrofit kit is available. ALH models produced after mid-2001 are a direct install. BEW engines may need re-clocking of the turbo for proper connection to stock plumbing and Kerma Tuning is recommended to eliminate CELs and maximize performance. This turbocharger is compatible with the following Volkswagen models: 1999-2003 Mk4 Golf TDI (ALH), 1999-2003 Mk4 Jetta TDI (ALH), 1998-2003 Mk4 New Beetle TDI (ALH), 2004-2006 Mk4 Golf TDI (BEW), 2004-2005.5 MK4 Jetta TDI (BEW), 2004-2006 Mk4 Jetta Wagon TDI (BEW), and 2004-2006 Mk4 New Beetle TDI (BEW).
