The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit (PN D13503) is an efficient aluminum cooler designed to significantly extend transmission life and improve performance. Unlike tube and fin coolers, this unit features a robust plate-and-fin design with furnace-brazed construction for enhanced durability. Each of the 18 rows contains 3/4" embossed turbulators that agitate the fluid, maximizing heat transfer and minimizing pressure drop, leading to more effective cooling. This cooler is recommended for medium to full-size cars and intermediate SUVs subjected to light to medium duty use, including occasional towing. By preventing heat-related transmission failures, it directly contributes to a longer transmission lifespan and can result in smoother shifting performance. The cooler has a BTU rating of 20,000 and a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) rating of 20,500 lbs. The kit includes a comprehensive hardware package with a 4-foot hose and stainless steel clamps.
