The Derale Performance Series 8000 Plate and Fin Transmission Cooler Kit is engineered to enhance transmission longevity and performance. This unit features a robust aluminum construction with furnace-brazing for superior strength and durability. Its design incorporates embossed turbulators within each tube, which agitate the fluid to maximize heat transfer while minimizing pressure drop. With a BTU rating of 20,000 and a fluid capacity of 5.5 oz, this cooler is suitable for vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of up to 20,500 lbs. The cooler itself measures 11" wide, 9-1/4" high, and 7/8" deep, with a mounting dimension of 6-3/4" x 8". It operates at a working pressure of 250 psi and has a burst strength of 300 psi. This kit includes all necessary hardware for installation and is perfect for light to medium duty use and occasional towing applications. By effectively managing transmission temperatures, it greatly extends transmission life and contributes to improved shifting performance, helping to prevent heat-related failures.
