The Tecna coilover system is engineered by our team to provide the best riding experience for the 1990-2005 Mazda Miata MX5, while still allowing for lowered ride heights. These are designed as daily driver/dual-duty shocks, prioritizing ride quality over extreme competition setups. The damping range is optimized for street use, canyons, HPDE, or autocross, offering a significant upgrade over stock without requiring constant service. Constructed with CNC machined one-piece steel bodies and 6061 T-6 aluminum end caps, the Tecna coilovers utilize a monotube design with a 44mm piston for responsive damping. They feature adjustable ride height, 30-position adjustable damping, and 120mm stroke front and rear, with a 10mm increase in rear bump travel over OEM. The spring options include 6kg/4kg (336/224 in-lb) GT rates for excellent ride quality and handling on street builds, or optional 9/6kg (504/336 in-lb) Sport rates for improved response and stability, especially with 200tw tires in performance driving scenarios. Proprietary barrel profile long stroke rear springs (4kg only) are also included. Tecna coilovers are shipped fully assembled with initial preload, ready for immediate installation. Spanner wrenches are included for ride height adjustments. Installation details and setup recommendations, including typical pinch weld height ranges (4.75-6 inches), are provided in the product documentation. Optional components like remote adjuster cables, shock covers, and a Tecna Handling Kit (including a Racing Beat front sway bar, brace blocks, and end links) are available to further enhance performance. The system includes Supermiata NB style upper mounts for a bolt-in fitment on all 1990-2005 Miatas. For those running wider tires (e.g., 245/40/15) or experiencing fender liner contact, optional shock mount spacers or travel limiters can be added to create necessary clearance. A 10-year limited warranty covers materials, defects, and workmanship, with free shock replacement for leaks during the first five years.
