The ITM Engine Components 056-5134 is a full set of 16 hydraulic lifters designed to replace worn or noisy lifters in select Mazda vehicles. This proven aftermarket product offers a significant cost saving compared to OEM parts, making it an attractive option for maintaining older engines. Miatas, in particular, often develop the dreaded lifter tick as their engines surpass 150,000 miles. While various home remedies exist, such as flushing the engine with ATF or using thicker oil, replacing all lifters with a reliable product like the 056-5134 is often the most straightforward solution. The ITM brand has established a good reputation within the Miata community over the past decade, indicating a level of quality and reliability for their components. This hydraulic lifter kit is compatible with the 1988-1989 Mazda 323, the 1990-1997 Mazda Miata, and the 1990-2003 Mazda Protege. It is important to note that lifter tick can stem from multiple causes, and while replacing the lifters addresses a common source, it may not resolve every instance of engine noise. The lifters are constructed from aluminum and come as a new part.
