The HEL Direct Fit Oil Cooler Kit is engineered to provide a safe and reliable cooling solution for the Honda Civic FK2 Type R, a model known to experience heat issues during track use. This kit aims to maintain optimal oil temperatures by utilizing a Setrab Series 6 ProLine 19-row oil cooler, chosen for its balance between minimizing pressure loss and delivering effective cooling. The cooler is positioned in the ideal location for airflow, between the two headlights, thanks to two custom-manufactured aluminum brackets that mount it to the crash bar. The comprehensive kit includes everything needed for installation, featuring pre-assembled AN10 high-flow HEL braided hoses with anodized aluminum fittings. Oil is delivered to and returned from the cooler via a non-thermostatic sandwich plate that incorporates an inline thermostat precisely set at 92°C (197.6°F). This thermostat ensures the engine can warm up safely and prevents the oil from becoming too cold, offering a perfect balance for both street and track driving. Installation is facilitated by clear instructions and technical support from HEL. The kit includes the Setrab oil cooler with AN10 banjo adapters, HEL custom aluminum mounting bracket, the non-thermostatic oil filter sandwich plate with the 92°C thermostat, preassembled AN10 HEL braided hoses with fittings, and stainless steel mounting hardware.
