The COBB Tuning SF Intake System is engineered to replace the stock panel air filter and airbox on Mazdaspeed3 vehicles from 2007-2013. This performance modification aims to improve airflow and enhance the engine's breathing by removing pre-turbo restrictions. Constructed with a custom conical cloth air filter and utilizing computational fluid dynamics for optimal design, the SF Intake System comes in a Stealth Black finish. It is CARB certified (EO number D-660-8), making it legal for sale and use on emissions-controlled vehicles in all 50 states when installed according to the manufacturer's application guide. Installation of this intake system can result in noticeable gains, with some sources indicating figures such as +11HP and +16 lb-ft. However, it is important to note that using Cobb Off-The-Shelf (OTS) maps with this intake is not recommended by some users due to potential risks; professional tuning is often advised for optimal and safe performance.
